BUSINESS MODEL

Provide a preferential option for the poor in health care.  The model of care is based around partnering with poor communities to bring the benefit of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair.

Delivered to date

PIH now has twelve clinical sites in Haiti collectively serving a catchment area of 1.2m and providing 2.6m patient visits in 2008.  In Rwanda, Malawi and Lesotho PIH operates 35 health facilities, has provided ART to 10,426 patients and recorded 677,000 patient visits annually. Worldwide, PIH employs 11,346 individuals including 6,928 community health workers.
