Meet the team
Sam Morgan, Founder and Chairman
Sam started his career at Deloitte Consulting and is best known for founding online auction website Trade Me which became New Zealand’s biggest Internet business when it sold in 2006. Sam spends his time investing in (mostly software) businesses as well as social enterprises. Sam failed to achieve any sort of tertiary qualification but nowadays is okay with that.
Nina Gené, CEO
Nina joined Jasmine Social Investments in 2007 with the responsibility to identify prospective investments, support partner organisations and collaborate with a network of social investors. Before joining Jasmine, Nina worked at Credit Suisse and Salomon Smith Barney Asset Management. She holds a BA from Boston University and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Heidi Lawson, Analyst
Heidi joined Jasmine Social Investments as an Analyst in 2018. Prior to this, she spent three years with the PwC Mergers and Acquisitions team in New Zealand. Heidi assists with Jasmine’s investment evaluation process through quantitative and analytical support, and helps to keep the engine running by coordinating and facilitating the activities of the foundation.
Ann Vansverry, Family Office Manager
Ann joined Jasmine Social Investments in 2011. She has worked both internationally and in New Zealand in many business support and management roles. Ann manages the Family Office as well as the day-to-day activities of the Jasmine Group and is responsible for supporting the team, Board and core members of its network.
Sharon Bryant, Trustee
Sharon joined the Jasmine Social Investments Board in 2011. She is an active social investor and the founding trustee of a private philanthropic trust whose primary focus is on improving the quality of life of those that are unnecessarily blind or vision impaired.
Richard Abbott, Trustee
Richard joined the Jasmine Social Investments Board in 2006. He is a semi-retired private investor, philanthropist and company director specialising in internet businesses. Richard was Chairman of Trade Me at time of sale.
